Giving an iMac G3 New Life

I recently have been thinking of extending the life of an old iMac G3 we have at our house.  I've heard that some Linux distros like Debian and Fedora run very well on older computers.

 I'm going to do some more research and see if I can make an obsolete computer last just a little longer.
